It is lack cytochrome C oxidase and produces at least one beta-lactamase an enzyme responsible for cleaving atom lactam.
Acinetobacter baumannii has low virulence but competent of causing infection in organ transplant and febrile neutropenia where most of the isolates recovered from hospital specifically from respiratory secretions and urine which shows colonization rather than infection. It has properties like toxins that deliver to the system which directly affect host cell and qualities that contribute to the microbe fitness in surviving the host environment.
