The antrum of Highmore is the largest of the paranasal sinuses (other sinuses are frontal sinus, ethmoid sinus, and sphenoid sinus). The name is associated with the English surgeon and anatomist, Nathaniel Highmore. Although the sinus was earlier noticed by Leonardo da Vinci and Giulio Casserio even before Nathaniel Highmore described it.
