Aorta
(Science: anatomy) The largest artery in the body which has its origin at the heart. It gives off branches to the extremities, neck and major organs for the purpose of supplying oxygenated blood.
The large trunk artery that carries blood from the left ventricle of the heart to branch arteries.One of the main arteries involved in carrying oxygenated blood around the body. It supplies many of the main organs in the torso of the body, and branches off into tributary arteries that direct blood to more remote areas of the body.
