Brawny oedema –>
nonpitting oedema
swelling of subcutaneous tissues which cannot be indented by compression easily. Usually due to metabolic abnormality, such as increased glycosaminoglycan content, like that which occurs in graves disease (pretibial myxoedema) or in early phase of scleroderma.
