A process which renders to organism immunity to a specific disease by exposing the organism to an antigen to promote the production of antibodies to a particular antigen.
Supplement
Innoculation is the former term for the artificial administering of a killed or attenuated antigen to an organism to induce the immune system to develop antibodies for that antigen so that subsequent exposure to live antigen will activate the already existing antibodies to combat it.
