(chemistry)
(1) The SI unit of amount of substance of a chemical system that contains as many elementary unit as there are atoms in 0.012 kg of carbon-12. Symbol: mol.
(2) The molecular weight of a substance (in grams); gram molecule.
(zoology)
(1) True moles: any of the various small insectivorous mammals of the family Talpidae; predominantly burrowing species, others are aquatic or semi-aquatic. Most of them have cylindrical bodies covered in fur; their eyes are generally small or covered; ears are generally not visible; strong forefeet.
(2) Other animals unrelated to true moles: such as the Golden mole (a burrowing insectivorous mammal in the family Chrysochloridae), the marsupial mole (a burrowing insectivorous marsupial mammal of the order Notoryctemorphia), and duck mole (a platypus).
(dermatology) A small, congenital, pigmented spot or blemish on the skin, usually slightly raised and sometimes hairy; a nevus.
(pathology) A fleshy mass of tissue in the uterus caused by a hemorrhagic dead ovum.
