A syndrome characterized by edema and large amounts of protein in the urine and usually increased blood cholesterol; usually associated with glomerulonephritis or with a complication of various systemic diseases.A disease affecting the kidneys.The degeneration of epithelial tissue in the kidney nephron which allows larger molecules to be passed on out the kidney and excreted in urine, such as glycogen.
