(Science: chemical) 4-((((aminoiminomethyl)amino)acetyl)amino)-n-(5-(((3-amino-3-iminopropyl)amino)carbonyl)-1-methyl-1h-pyrrol-3-yl)-1-methyl-1h-pyrrole-3-carboxamide. A basic polypeptide isolated from streptomyces netropsis. It has antibacterial and antiviral properties, and is used as a tool in the study of nucleic acids due to its strong, specific binding to the a-t areas of dNA.
Pharmacological action: antibiotics, peptide, antiviral agents.
