A model conceptualized by François Jacob and Jacques Monod depicting the coordinate expression of a group of genes.
Supplement
In this model, Jacob and Monod described the two sets of bacterial genes, i.e. the structural genes and regulatory genes, co-ordinately controlled to make a functional operon. An example is the lac operon.
