Excessive pulmonary ventilation, i.e. when air is breathed in and out in a deep and fast manner

In humans, overventilation can lead to dizziness, fainting, light headedness, and cramps. These symptoms may happen as a result of rapid, deep breathing leading to low carbon dioxide concentration in the blood.
