The small mass of densely, inactive X-chromosome within the nucleus of somatic cell of females.
Supplement
Females normally have one sex chromatin whereas males have none. Thus, the presence of sex chromatin is one of the ways to determine sex or for gender verification. Test involving sex chromatin determination was previously common. Later, the test is replaced by the more advanced test such as polymerase chain reaction test.
