SI unit
(Science: chemistry, physics) An international system of units of measurement in which the fundamental units are standardised.
Examples include: metre, kilometre, ampere, gray, joule, sievert, becquerel.

A unit of measurement using a particular scale, e.g. centimetres, kilograms.
