Theile friedrich

Friedrich Wilhelm Theile (1801-1879) was a German anatomist. Theile’s canal (i.e. the transverse pericardial sinus), Theile’s glands (i.e. biliary mucosa glands), and Theile’s muscle (i.e. the superficial transverse perineal muscle) were named after him. Many of his works were translations into German language, e.g. Die physikalischen Untersuchungsmethoden nach Roger und Hughes, Die Epilepsie. Aus dem Französischen, and Bau und Functionen der Medulla Spinalis und Oblongata und nächste Ursache und Rationelle Behandlung der Epilepsie. Many of his translated works can be found in Carl Christian Schmidt’s Jahrbücher der in- und ausländischen gesammten Medicin.
