Thyrohyid muscle

The thyrohyoid muscle is a small quadrilateral skeletal muscle that can be found on the neck as a continuation of the sternothyroid muscle. Its origin is from the oblique line of the thyroid cartilage. It inserts into the body of the hyoid bone. It depresses the hyoid and raises the larynx. The thyrohyoid branch of C1 nerve innervates it.
