Any of the ganglia of the autonomic nervous system situated along the sympathetic trunks, on the peripheral plexuses, and the walls of the internal organs. It contains the cell bodies of autonomic nerves.

In vertebrates, the visceral ganglia are one of the two major groups of ganglia. The other being the spinal ganglia. The visceral ganglia can be further divided into two major groups:
- sympathetic ganglia
- parasympathetic ganglia
