Incisura is a Latin word for incisure (notch). It is used to describe a notch on a bodily structure of an organism.
In taxonomy, Incisura is a genus in the Family Fissurellidae of Class Gastropoda, which includes certain keyhole limpets, sea snails, and gastropod molluscs, e.g. Incisura lytteltonensis and Incisura rosea (remote slit-shell). They are primarily characterized by a notch on their shell. Incisura is also used as a specific epithet in certain species names to characterize the species by a morphological notch, such as Archibasis incisura identifiable from other Archibasis spp. (blue damselfly) by their notched superior anal appendages.
Incisura may also refer to certain anatomical structures, such as the incisura angularis gastris or the angular incisure of the stomach.
