Leishman-donovan bodies
small spheres found in the spleen and liver of patients with visceral leishmaniasis. The spheres are an alternate, non flagellated form of the parasitic protozoan leishmania donovani which occurs once the parasite has invaded the cells of the reticuloendothelial system in the patients organs. The spheres are named after Sir William Leishman and Charles Donovan.
