The term multiparous is an obstetrical word used to describe a female that has given birth to more than one offspring at one time. It is also used to describe a female that had more than one pregnancies at different times. The term is used to compare with other females, particularly those that have given birth at one time (primiparous) and those that have not (nulliparous).
