eosinophilic, sharply outlined, pathognomonic inclusion body’s (2 to 10 um in diameter) found in the cytoplasm of certain nerve cells containing the virus of rabies, especially in ammon’s horn of the hippocampus.
Synonym: negri corpuscles.
