Prodromal stage is one of the four major stages of a disease. The first stage is referred to as incubation period followed by a prodromal period. At prodromal period, the symptoms may not be very specific or severe. The affected person can still perform usual functions although distress or discomfort may be felt. Following prodromal is the illness period and the final stage is the convalescent period.
