Chronaxie is one of the points that can be defined through the strength-duration curve (the other is rheobase). Determining chronaxie is essential, for example in the medical field where it is applied in electromyography, a technique used to diagnose neuropathy, myopathy, and neuromuscular junction diseases. For instance, the chronaxie value provides information regarding the electrical activity of the diseased skeletal muscle.
