Jaundice
(Science: clinical sign) Yellowing of the skin (and whites of eyes) by bilirubin, a bile pigment. Frequently because of a liver problem.
Yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes caused by an accumulation of bile pigment (bilirubin) in the blood; can be a symptom of gallstones or liver infection or anemia.A phenotypical expression caused by the presence of bilirubin, which results in the yellowing of eyes and skin. This can be a result of excess destruction of red blood cells.
