noun
(1) The cleft or sulcus as a result of the anchoring of the deep layers of the skin to the anococcygeal raphe and the dorsum of the coccyx up to the tip of the sacrum.
(2) The groove or crack between the buttocks that runs from below the sacrum to the perineum; or the groove in which the anus is situated.
(3) The cleft or groove as if forming a visible border between the masses of the gluteus maximus muscle.
